All of our captains at Dana Point Sportfishing bring 10 or more years of experience operating vessels of all sizes and guiding throughout Southern California, Baja, and Central California. Our team holds USCG licenses ranging from 100‑ton to 200‑ton Master, ensuring you’re working with seasoned professionals who prioritize safety, seamanship, and guest experience.

At Dana Point Sportfishing, we take pride in handling and preserving your catch to the highest possible standard. Every fish is carefully bled, ike jime (spiked), shinkei jime (wired), and iced immediately to ensure exceptional quality from the moment it comes aboard. This meticulous process delivers the best end result you’ll find anywhere.

All fish can be cleaned and packaged according to California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations before we return to the dock. For guests who want an even more refined finish, we’ve partnered with several professional processors who can expertly fillet, vacuum‑seal, and even ship your catch if needed.
